Description:

The Sequential OB6 and Sequential Prophet 6 synthesizers are modern instruments that draw inspiration from their vintage predecessors, notably the Oberheim OB series of the 1980s and the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 from 1978.

<p in keeping with this heritage, both instruments feature primarily simple numerical displays. Although patch names and sound categories are stored within the patch data, they remain hidden from view, as the displays cannot convey this information.

Many musicians prefer descriptive patch names, which tend to be more memorable and can serve as a source of inspiration compared to numerical identifiers. Organizing sounds by category during auditioning can facilitate easier navigation and selection.

Patchhero addresses these limitations by providing an external screen solution for the Sequential OB6 and Prophet 6, enabling users to navigate, assign names, categorize, and filter patches effectively.

Connectivity options include direct USB connection using an Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter, either through a standard USB cable or via a USB MIDI interface. Wireless options are available through Bluetooth when using a Bluetooth MIDI adapter. Additionally, Wi-Fi connectivity via RTP-MIDI over a shared network is supported.
